Kim Kardashian thanks Donald Trump for Granting Alice Johnson Clemency
Never underestimate the power of Kim Kardashian's influence.
Last week, the 37-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star traveled from Calabasas, Calif., to Washington, D.C., with the intent of persuading President Donald Trump to grant clemency to Alice Johnson, a first-time nonviolent drug offender who had been given a life sentence without parole. Trump forgave Alice Wednesday, a White House spokesperson confirmed to E! News. Relieved, Kardashian tweeted, "BEST NEWS EVER!!!!"
Hours after President Trump granted clemency to Alice Johnson, she was released from federal prison in Aliceville, Ala., where she has been serving her time since 1996. Footage released by NBC News showed the emotional moment Johnson reunited with family members.
On Twitter Wednesday, Kardashian thanked Kushner, Trump and everyone else who "contributed countless hours to this important moment" for Johnson. "Her commutation is inspirational and gives hope to so many others who are also deserving of a second chance." Kardashian hopes "to continue this important work by working together with organizations who have been fighting this fight for much longer than I have and deserve the recognition."
She went on to say, "The phone call I just had with Alice will forever be one of my best memories. Telling her for the first time and hearing her screams while crying together is a moment I will never forget."
Sister Khloe is also very proud of her sister. She tweeted, "Kimberly you are such a beautiful person inside and out!! I am constantly amazed by your determination! No matter what, you never let anyone else dictate your life! What?s right is right! You did what was right! God bless you ??".
Beyonce and Jay Z Show off Twins Rumi and Sir Carter
Beyonce and Jay-Z's On the Run II tour just started and it's already making headlines!
The couple is currently kicking off their stadium tour in Cardiff and fans at the show are posting pics and videos from the epic music event on social media. One major moment in the concert that had social media buzzing was when the couple appeared to show off their twins Rumi Carter and Sir Carter in a photo.
Social media users have posted images of the couple holding babies, alongside a series of messages. One message reads "love never changes" while another reads "love is universal."
But it sounds like the twins weren't featured in this part of the show. The couple's rep told Buzzfeed that "it's not" Bey and Jay's twins in the photo.
It appears that the twins were actually featured in a video towards the end of the concert though. That video gave fans a glimpse into the couple's family life, including sweet moments with Blue Ivy.
The video also features footage of Bey's pregnancy with the twins and later shows her holding her babies after giving birth.
